Commonly Asked Questions

Can you tell me more about the book itself?

The Christmas Wish was written with the idea that it could be used as a tool in women’s ministry. From reading many, many books over the years that inspired me in one way or another, I believe that the storyline of The Christmas Wish will give each client reading it a sense of support and connectedness.

The main character college-age Jocelyn Madison started off her life away from home with the belief that through college she would save herself for the man that God had for her and as soon as she got out of school, he would be there waiting for her. She counted on God following through with her plan. Instead God allowed her to experience something much different. One night as walked home from her hometown church, Jocelyn was brutally raped, then shortly afterward found out she was pregnant with the rapist’s child. Frightened and ashamed, Jocelyn spends night after sleepless night in utter shock, searching for answers and trying to put together the broken pieces of her life as she decides whether or not she’s willing to give life to this stranger’s baby growing inside of her. Then God speaks to her heart and she chooses life for the child and goes back to school with hopes of regaining some sense of normalcy. Right after graduation, Jocelyn returns home and begins her new life with her daughter. Shortly after returning, her daughter introduces her to the man that turns out to be the “one” God had for her and he, in turn, provides her with the Christmas Eve wedding she dreamed of all along.

How would The Christmas Wish book be helpful to my clients?

Though the storyline deals with the subject of pregnancy and abortion, it’s written in such a way that the clients considering their options can see as the story unfolds how the choices they make will effect their life, for either the good or the bad, for the rest of their life. Being a fictional story, they won’t be threatened or feel as if they are having another “religious book” shoved down their throat, yet it’ll let them understand through reading about the outcome of the main character’s choices that they are not alone in their time of trial and that God is always there for them. In the book Jocelyn expected something from God. She had a “laundry list” so to speak of expectations and God allowed her to experience, as heartbreaking as it was, the rape and pregnancy to bring her to a point of total faith and dependence on Him. He had to grow her character to a place where she could receive His true will and blessings for her life. Then and only then did He bring to her the desires of her heart. I wrote The Christmas Wish so other women could see through the depths of the main character’s struggles that she was never alone. That God had a plan and a purpose for her life far greater than what she could seen or received at that time in her life. That she needed to come to a place of surrender and change before she could receive all He had in store for her. And, if she’d chosen the other route, and aborted her child, she would’ve lost out on the one thing she wanted more than anything in her life…her husband and the deeper trust she found in her Lord.

Why should I buy The Christmas Wish for my center?

Because the book is a great non-threatening way to show the love of Christ to the young women coming into your center in crisis. To let them know, regardless of their beliefs coming in, that God loves them and cares about their lives in a very real way and tht He always has their best interest in mind.

The Christmas Wish shows how God allows circumstances in our lives to shape and mold us for the better so we can have the life of abundance He promises in the bible. It can also be good for the new mother that’s unsure of herself and her new found role. To remember back to the place where she first put her trust in the people she met at your center that helped her decide to keep her child. That the words of encouragement and support given to her upon her first visit are the same ones that still hold true into her future.

We are strictly donation based, can I get a discount if I buy more than one book?

Of course! That is one of the most important things to most non-profit agencies so I am offering a 20% discount on purchases of five books or more. In the future I will have special discounts put together for the set of three books, The Christmas Wish, Shattered Dreams and The Other Side of Addiction.
