Author uses her book to save the lives of unborn babies
Sarasota, Florida - December 17, 2007 - Karen Farrell Jaworski, author & speaker, has always had a heart for women in crisis and now she’s found an unique way of making that passion work to help others. She has taken her personal experience as well as her love of writing and created a way to use her book as a tool to spread the word of hope and encouragement to women worldwide experiencing the crisis of an unplanned pregnancy.
This year The Christmas Wish, has spanned the globe touching women’s lives in countries as far away as Japan, Nigeria and the Philippians and it hasn‘t stopped there. At last count, Karen has reached into fourteen different countries in five different languages and is shooting to touch every country in every language by the end of 2009.
Karen states, “Over the last twenty years, I’ve experienced as much trauma as one woman possibly could, and it has inspired me to take some of that horrific mess and turn it into something uplifting to others. The Christmas Wish’s plotline, although fiction in nature, is a very real representation of the type of tragedy a young woman reading this book could face. The only difference is that I let the reader see that there are other endings to their story than the one they first imagine, by the book’s main character, Mary Warren, not allowing herself to succumb to the tragedy she experienced and give up hope, but use it as a tool to empower herself to greater heights. The message I look to pass on to the women I speak to is that although they feel as if their world is about to end, there is hope and a purpose for every situation…you just have to look for that light at the end of the tunnel.”
As of today, three out of four women have experienced some sort of trauma in her lifetime and by reading Karen‘s book and hearing her words of wisdom spoken at various women‘s conferences, every woman can see that with a little faith, they too can triumph over their struggles and something beautiful can come from the ashes of their lives. In fact, each pregnancy center nationwide is receiving a letter from Karen outlining her mission and how her services can be integrated into their programs to save the lives of their tiniest clientele.
Prior to becoming a full-time author, Karen worked nationally as a contributing writer/editor for the New York Times newspaper group. At the local division, Karen worked closely with non-profit agencies in their marketing/promotions/advertising efforts, to create stronger public awareness and support of their charities. Shortly after 9/11, Karen left the NYT's Co. altogether and moved to Ft. Worth, TX to spend one year in full-time volunteer service helping single parent women create a better life for themselves and their children.
