Local Author works to help teen girls in crisis
Karen Farrell-Jaworski, local Christian fiction author is using her book The Christmas Wish as a platform to help inspire and encourage young women in the Sarasota and Bradenton area
Sarasota, Florida – August 16, 2007 - Karen Farrell-Jaworski, over the last few months, has been traveling up and down the east coast speaking to various groups of young women in the midst of crisis using her first book, The Christmas Wish, as a way to encourage and inspire these young women to a better future.
This month she’s hosting a book signing event at home to benefit the local Sarasota Medical Pregnancy Center. Partnering with local Christian radio station LIFE FM 89.1, Karen hopes that everyone who hears about this event will come out to the Living Word bookstore and show their support of this important cause. Her book, The Christmas Wish, although fictional in nature is a heartwarming story that will uplift and encourage any person who has ever experienced any type of pain in their life. By reading this story she hopes each person will see they are not alone in their struggle and there is a light at the end of any tunnel.
The book signing event will be held Saturday, August 25th from 10 am to 2 pm at the Living Word Christian book store at 5421 Fruitville Rd. in Sarasota. Her portion of the proceeds from the sale of The Christmas Wish will go directly to the pregnancy center and she will be on hand, along with the center’s director, Mark Heile, to answer any questions about her book or her speaking availability along with more info about the programs offered at the center.
Because the Sarasota Medical Pregnancy Center completely operates from the generosity of the community, they are in dire need of diapers (newborn to size five), baby wipes, hooded bath towels, Infant Tylenol, infant Mylicon gas relief, diaper rash ointment, baby shampoo, baby lotion and baby soap to help replenish their earn while you learn program. A coupon for a free chicken sandwich from the Fruitville Chick-Fila will be given out to anyone who buys one of Karen’s books or brings in an item for the center on the day of the signing.
