Forever Remember by Karen Farrell Jaworski

. . . Peter stood silent, not responding to either her voice or her touch. An ashy gray color crept over his skin and a slight tremble came to his body, yet there was no response whatsoever in his eyes.

“Peter, Peter…is everything okay? Are you still with me here?” Julia tugged at his shirt sleeve, worried from her view, Peter looked more like a statue than a man....

....Everything around Peter fell away and ceased to exist. Every noise in the background silenced, every motion stilled. It happened in a flash, although to Peter it all felt like slow motion.

Sensors in his brain went haywire when the scene flashed right before his very eyes. He practically fell to his knees as a woman, surrounded by a mist that started at her feet and billowed up and out toward the base of her knees, came into view. She held onto what looked like a dress as she ran past an old lighthouse into obscurity. The lighthouse, with its red brick exterior and faded black framed tower, blurred into the background as he attempted to focus in on the woman and what she was doing.

He wanted to scream when he tried to shake his head but couldn’t. Fear took a hold of him when he realized that he was trapped in his own body and unable to do anything but stare straight ahead at this ghost woman who captured both his mind and his senses...
